that's amazing hearing you speaking of the "bones" of a house. It's exactly the same word that went through my head seeing th deconstruction of the former seat of the government of the GDR in Berlin...reduced to the bones....
I love the site of construction, too, as much as it's not necessarily a positive thing here in Seattle where gentrification is so rampant. But the cranes! And the steel girders! It's all so fantastic just to look at.
