Yes, knit lace! You'd love it. :o) You can even knit it in a kind of chunky yarn. Let me know if you want help, haha! :o) I really love the meter cozy, especially during winter. I may have to sneak one of those on a meter around here next winter. (Yeah, it's no longer really winter in CA, just rainy.)

i absolutely love that meter cozy!
and brooklyn tweed is amazing. that man knows his way around some lace + made me look at garter stitch in a whole new way.
