i'm sorry i haven't written in awhile. i had to make an unexpected trip to new york due to some family stuff. the day before we left we signed a lease on a small 2 bedroom apartment in the above building. it's a 1920s building and has some funny details like the arches in the photo below. it will be a great temporary space until we're ready to buy.
once we move in i'll take photos of some of the other period details. we're going to paint the walls as metallic gold is a little too disco for me. we're thinking something soft like a light brown or greenish-blue. maybe one in the main room and another in the dining room. what do you think?
and if we decide we want to make a little extra money we can always convert it to a moroccan restaurant. :)
Perrrrfect!! Ha!! Well, if anyone knows how to "rock the Casbah" I'd say it is vous??? xoxoxooxox

Love those arched doorways. That's cool you can paint. When I was a renter, I had only white walls.

Oh my goodness, did you find a castle? It's so unique with the moroccan style arches, you really should keep the theme -it'd be fun!! (go wild, it's only temporary :))

I like the wooden floor and the BIG windows. There can be not much enough light in my rooms!! And so great, that there is green around th house. I'm curious, how it will turn out in the end ;)

Oh, I love those doorways! I can definitely see it as a moroccan restaurant, esp. with those gold walls. Just drape the ceilings tent style with rich jewel toned fabric, lanterns hanging here and there, pillows on the floor, low tables. :^)
Can't wait to see what colors you chose for the revamp.

Wow, I love it! It's pretty beautiful for just a temporary space. I agree, brown and greenish blue sound pretty and earthy.

Oh my gosh, I love it. It's those kinds of details that make older buildings so special. And the exterior is equally lovely. Wonderful choice.

I can't tell you how much I love those doorways!
My house was built in 1929. It's simple, yet has so much charm to it. It's a shame that houses today aren't built with the same character to them.

Lovely, and so nice to think about places being simpler to live in than NY. Denver. Maybe a possibility. Dunno.

Risa, this is so cool! Those Moorish arches, how unusual!
