Last night we saw Memories of a Geisha. What a beautiful movie! The fabrics were amazing. I was so inspired that I spent more time than I have this morning perusing the Japanese textiles at Marla Mallett Textiles. This site is a great source of inspiration for textile lovers. In addition to Japanese textiles, she also sells, Chinese, Indonesian, African, Turkish, Indian, Laotian, Afghani and Persian textiles. One (ahem!) could easily spend hours on this site. Here are some of the breath-taking images I found:
Mmm! Beautiful. Only fit for the most talented seamstress...not me! But I like to look. =)

Oh! oh! oh! Please stop, you're hurting me. Too much gorgeousness. I can't bear to look at the link because I know I'm going to see price tags and just weep. Please only show undesirable items in future. No, really.

What a wonderful collection of assembled fabrics. I went to a wonderful exhibition of international textiles yesterday, from Japan to Nigeria. In complete awe! See you, LJ
