This card went out to Jess this morning (along with a bunch of other goodies). It is a tribute to el campo ecuatoriano (farmland here) and you can see Pichincha, one of the many volcanoes near Quito, in the background. The hanging laudry was inspired by a recent photo from a Japanese craft book posted by Lynn. I hope you like it Jess!
I watched a bunch of movies this weekend, three of which (Brokeback Mountain, Walk the Line, and Topaz) took place at least partially in the '60s. Topaz is a Hitchcock film about Russian spies, Cuba, leaks in the French government, infielity, etc. from the late '60s. My favorite scene from the movie is when the beautiful Juanita is shot and an aerial view of her dress spreading out as she collapses is shown.
I was also inspired by all the ´60s fashion. The movies and the Vogue I bought which is full of cute little ´60s style mini-dresses. I was reminded of my favorite vintage dress site (for looking ONLY): The Frock. Look at these beautiful dresses and coats (in amazing condition) from the '50s and '60s:
