best in show

we oggled pups and peeps at the mod livin' "best in show" auction on friday.  our dog went home with a lovely lady who came specifically to bid on him.  you can see the nice lady above with noreen, mike, me, and jordan (for some reason i'm the only once in focus).

then we ate cupcakes.

p.s.- there are many reasons i love having my friend jon in town.  one of the less sentimental but most relevant to this post reasons is that he takes photos everywhere we go.  all puppy photos were taken by him.

Fun idea for a chilly weekend evening...

Order up a steaming pitcher of whipped cream-topped hot chocolate (Did you even know this was possible?) and break out cards for a fast-paced game of Crazy Eights*.

*CAUTION! A sugar high and cards can lead to a WILD night.  Beginners should start with a half-pitcher and a round of Go Fish.

yes, i believe in prisoner rights.

yes, i believe too  many people are sent to jail.

still, it is a little disconcerting to look at photos of a prison nicer than my home or office.

i don't like winter.  i feel like an old lady saying it, but i realy could do with out the cold and snow.  the only great thing about winter is watching the happiness on everyone's face when it's over.  today, we passed smile after smile while walking through a newly green park.

there is no time for spring cleaning when it's sunny and warm outside.

sorry floors, you will remain dusty for one more day.

-waking up refreshed, after a full night sleep

-laughing

-a (short!) email from an old friend

-replicating the pose of the gal in the martini, albeit fully dressed

we are taking part in a fundraiser for the downtown animal care foundation.  our puppy is named "5" and is listed under michael mcdowell, my buddy who organized the decorating.  the dogs will be auctioned march 28th from 7-11pm in the mod livin' showroom at 5327 colfax ave., denver, co.  if you are in town please come and support local animals in need!

in addition to the auction there is an online voting contest.  voting began last night.  while the main point is to help raise money, we would greatly appreciate any votes for our dog.  thank you!  thank you!  thank you!
