and there was even live bluegrass music...
Isn't if funny how you can be living in a place for awhile, feeling like you are well-acquainted with the best restaurants, bars, bookstores, parks, etc., and then you discover an old gem you some how missed? I love that excitement of a new discovery and boy did we experience it Saturday night. Jordan's principal invited us to Cafe Mosaico, as she wanted to pick our brains about our experiences with mosaicing and figured where else would be a better place than a restaurant filled with tiles? What we were unprepared for was the breathtaking view of "El Centro," the colonial section of the city. I think it might be the most beautiful view I have ever seen (the photo above doesn't come close to truly capturing it) and I can't believe I missed the opportunity to share this special place with our visitors last year. Jordan has already decided we are celebrating my birthday there, and my birthday is in May! :)

What a fabulous view!
Lucky girl :)

Hi there. My mother turned me onto your blog. I too am an east-coaster living in Quito. Please do share the details about this place with the great view! Where exactly is it located?? I must check out that view with all of the twinkle lights.
