My parents arrived on Friday night and it felt like Christmas! They brought tons of magazines, books, food, all the clothes we had ordered...it was super fun to go through it all.
Yesterday we took a day trip outside the city and our first stop was a little market where one can buy all kinds of food (meat, fish, fruits & vegetables, grains), clothing, pots, pans, and underwear:
Piles of Panties!
Also available at the market were the treats enjoyed for Day of the Dead. The tradition here is to eat guaguas (pronounced wahwahs-it is a Quichua word that is now also used in Spanish) de pan (Bread Babies) and colada morada (a purple drink made with different types of berries). To the left is a photo of some guaguas de pan.
Happy Halloween! Me encanta el Dia de Brujas! y el Dia de los Muertos!
